Definitions of Feminism

"Feminism is an approach/belief/ideology that men and women are equal. And therefore, they should have equal access to health, education, resource, employment and other opportunities. There should be no discrimination on the basis of sex. Moreover, feminism calls for devising such socio-economic policies that result in equitable outcomes for both genders." (Standford. Edu) "Feminism calls for endowing women with opportunities and avenues that her natural faculties make her capable of pursuing. In essence, women should be allowed to achieve self- actualization." THE YOUTH OF PRIVILEGED EMOTIONS

The head spinning phenomenon when someone asks you a question you don't know the answer to that a lot of other people have asked you before? Well, that's what's been lately. Educated people who share Rumi quotes have been doing that more than the ones who don't even know who Rumi is. I find it fascinating how people so confidently post inspirational quotes and think that their lives are entitled to living according to it, and when it comes to conversing about the confusion of the lost lives the youth of privileged emotions* are living nowadays, they forget that they had posted that quote on Instagram they are ignoring in this conversation and (un)knowingly spreading the hurt they felt at that moment they hit share. This head spinning is ok. We are fine as we are. And we don't need the world to tell us what to do and how to feel. Social media gets us. Our misery can be shared by the lit screens in our hands. Our hands are being held by electrons, sent to us by hands ...

MORGENTHAU AND WALTZ ON IR

Politics, like society in general, is governed by objective laws  that have their roots in human nature. The main signpost that helps political realism is the  concept of interest defined in terms of power. Hans Morgenthau, Politics among Nations (1985: 4, 5) The factors that distinguish international politics  are:  (1) t hat the stakes of the game are considered to be of unusual  importance and (2) that in international politics the use of f orce is not excluded as a means of influencing the outcome. The cardinal rule of the game is often taken to be: Do what  you must in order to win it. Kenneth Waltz, Man, The State and War (1959: 205)

Emerging Middle East: Interplay of the New Power

Introduction After the recent convulsions at social and political levels, the "Middle East" once again finds itself at the cusp of present uncertainties and future possibilities. The nomenclature "Middle East" has been a political expression rather than a geographical one; however, the discussion in this study relates to the region from the Indus to the Nile that is significant for its conflict-prone and energy-rich characteristics. It is still premature to completely assess the outcomes and impacts of the so-called "Arab Spring" uprisings and upheavals on the emerging geostrategic outlook in the Middle Eastern arena. Nonetheless, two and a half years after the upsurge began, it is useful to tentatively delineate and scrutinize the region's unfolding maturations. Future developments can only be forecasted. By studying the upheavals and their possible repercussions on the geostrategic environment. Considering the significance of religious, strategic, po...
